According to the Irish Times website, the name Reddy is a form of the surname Roddy, and is commonest in County Kilkenny.

On his 1900 Census, Martin Reddy said he arrived in the United States in 1873. No record of this trip was found in the index at Castle Garden, but if Martin made a later trip, then this might be him: a Martin Ready, 24, laborer, arrived at Castle Garden on 19 May 1879, aboard the ship the Republic, which left from Liverpool and Queenstown. The age matches Martin's.

He was in Cleveland by 1879 or so for sure, since his 1900 Census and the age of their oldest child point to a marriage by that date.

Ths is the listing for Martin and Mary's marriage in the Cuyahoga County Marriage index. The volume includes dates between Sept 1878 and Feb 1880, which would agree with all their other information.

Martin worked as a laborer and then as a watchman before becoming a patrolman for the City of Cleveland. He had retired by 1900.

Martin and Mary Reddy seem to have lived in the same home, or at least on the same street, for the entire time they are on the Cleveland records. Orlando St. became E. 95th St after the reorganization of Cleveland street names in 1905. Sandusky Ave retained its name. In 1882 the Reddys were on Orlando St, and in 1914 Mary was still living on E. 95th when she died.
