The Genealogy of the Gillson and Jillson Family says about James, among other things: He was of Reoboth. He and his wife are buried in the old buring ground in South Attleboro. His first log house was burnt out by Native Americans in the summer of 1675 or 1676. James was away at the time, and his wife Mary was at a spring near the house, with her infant son Nathan. All escaped.
