John W. Francis stricken while on Williamsburg tour.

Quincy -- John W. Francis, 80, of Quincy, a dry cleaner for 40 years, died Sunday at the Community Hospital in Williamsburg, Va., where he had been on a bus tour. He took many guided bus tours and had helped organize tours when he was President of the Senior Citizens Guild in Brockton. He had visited California, where he had relatives, and several cities along the East Coast and Canada. Mr. Francis worked for Monks Dry Cleaners in Dorchester. After he retired in 1975 he worked part time for the Purity Supreme Market in Dorchester. He was born in Boston. Mr. Francis was a member of the Knights of Columbus at Dorchester Lower Mills. He is survived by his wife, Ethel (Jackson) Francis: three sons, John W. Francis and William J. Francis, both of Quincy, And Donald R Francis of Norton; a daughter, Mary L. Conkey of Weymouth; a brother, Robert Francis of California; a sister, Marjorie Flot of Revere, 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 A.M. Friday at St. Ann's Church. Burial will be at the Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.

Visiting is from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Thursday at Keohane Funeral Home, 785
Hancock St. Wollaston.
