William and Huldah Spencer were married by Col. Jonathan Eddy, who
lived in Eddington, but both were "of Cobentown" when married.[18] They
are on the 1800 Census of Eddington. They may have remained in
Eddington until 1815 at the latest, when their children's births were
all registered together on the Orono records. In 1830 and 1840 they
are living in Orono. (The 1810 Census said "Bangor", but that seemed
to have included almost everyone on the river that year.)

Although the births of children two through eight were recorded in
Orono, they may have been born somewhere else. As of now, child #1 and
children #9 to #12 are only known from the censuses.
