MARGARET MAXFIELD OBITUARY

[8 March 2004]

LEOMINSTER -- Margaret A. (Hankard) Maxfield, 70, of 63 Peninsula Drive, Lunenburg, formerly of 9 Gardner Place, Leominster, died in her home Monday evening, March 8, after a brief illness.

She was born in Leominster on May 31, 1933, the daughter of John and Mary (Macauley) Hankard and had lived in Leominster until moving to Lunenburg one and a half years ago. She was a graduate of the Leominster Hospital School of Nursing.

Mrs. Maxfield had been a nurse at Leominster Hospital for 27 years before retiring in 1996.

She was a member of St. Leo’s Church in Leominster. She enjoyed gardening, played classical piano and wrote poetry. She attended the Highlands Adult Day Health, in Fitchburg, where among other activities enjoyed sewing and painting.
