Narrative

According to the manifest of the SS Campania on May 12, 1900 Felix was born about 1886. The 1905 Census says he was born about 1883. The Soundex index card for his naturalization, probably in 1905, says he was age 22, or born in 1882 or 1883. His World War I draft registration information says he was born December 8, 1883. His World War II draft registration information says he was born December 8, 1882. The index information for his death record in California says he was born Dec 8 1884.

On his 1942 WWII Draft Registration information, Felix said he was born in Co. Monaghan.

The 1930 Census says that Felix was born in Northern Ireland. This was the first US Census taken after the partitioning of Ireland, so the first to distinguish between NI and the Irish Free State. This conflicts with the information on his WWII Draft Registration which I assume Felix provided. Was his wife Barbara the informant for the census? Does it refer to his family having come from Armagh, which is in Northern Ireland, as of 1922?

The anders martikainen Web Site at myheritage.com says Felix was born about Aug 12, 1883, in Togher, "Co Lough" [presumably Louth]. Felix's brother Charles may have been born in Louth, see his information.
