Well Known Veteran of Civil War Succumbs to Complication of Diseases
David H Edwards - veteran of the civil war, retired Pennsylvania RR employee
yesterday at his home 1109 Eighteenth St
8 month illness
born Bedford County, May 28, 1843, spent boyhood days there. Served 3 years with company C, 19th Regiment of US regulars.
Came to Altoona in 1865 and has resided here since.
PA Railroad: for a time on the railroad, then in the freight car shop. Retired some 16 years ago. Member of Lieut Pott's post, Number 62, of the GAR, member of the Baptist Church, Union Veteran Legion, Order of Railway Cinductors, and the PA Railroad Relief Association.
Married in Altoona in 1866 to Maria C Hamilton who survives.

Gilbert, of McVeytown
William, of Johnstown
Gertrude, James I, Harry G, and Louis N, all of Altoona
Survived by 2 step sisters: Mrs Ida Walker of Pittsburg, and Mrs Katie Smay of Johnstown
Funeral Monday afternoon at 2 at his home. Burial Oak Ridge Cemetery
