"Cambria County was formed March 26, 1804 from what had once been portions of Somerset, Bedford and Huntingdon Counties . . . Allegheny, Cambria and Conemaugh Were The Three Original Townships Created When Cambria County was formed By an Act of Assembly Passed the 26th day of March, 1804. "

"To create Cambria, the legislature took Frankstown Township from Huntingdon County; from Somerset it took Conemaugh Township and Cambria Township, for which the new county was named. A small corner section of Bedford County was also included."
