Miller, Betty Joyce Ypsilanti Township, MI
Age 87, passed away Friday, May 14, 2010 at the Gilbert Residence following an extended illness.She was born July 19, 1922 in Hillsdale, MI, the daughter of Ted R. and Iva L. (Watkins) Green. Betty was a 1940 graduate of Tecumseh High School. She graduated from Hillsdale College and earned her Masters in Education from Eastern Michigan University. On August 24, 1945, she married Gordon C. Miller and he survives. During 1946-47, she had her own radio program in Adrian, MI, where you would "hear the voice of Betty Joyce." She was an active member of St. Matthew's United Methodist Church in Ypsilanti. Betty's musical contributions were extensive throughout the community and she was a wonderful cook. In addition to her loving husband of almost 65 years, survivors include: one daughter, Kriss M. Strotz of Pittsburgh, PA; one son, John (Deborah) Miller of Captain Cook, HI; and three grandchildren, Nicolas G., Adam C. and Kyle H. Strotz. The funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at Stark Funeral Service. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Contributions in Betty's memory may be made to the Gilbert Residence.
