Beatrice Brooks Jones Dick, 90, of Roanoke, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, June 17, 2007. She was born in Amherst County, Va. and moved at the age of 5 to Roanoke, where she has been a faithful member at Belmont Baptist Church since. Beatrice was a piano teacher until 2003. She has inspired many students in the valley. A member of the Thursday Morning Music Club, she served as the Third Vice President as well as leading many of its Junior Clubs. She also took an active part in several of the other music teachers' organizations. Beatrice was preceded in death by her husbands, Merwin Glennie Jones and David Dick. Surviving are her daughter, Karen Jones Harwood; son-in-law, Richard Harwood; grandson, Cory Brooks Harwood, all of Roanoke; stepdaughter, Martha Dick of Petersburg; step son-in-law, Ford White of Richmond; and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the staff of Our Lady of the Valley and Good Samaritan Hospice for the care you have provided these past months. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at Belmont Baptist Church ... Interment will be in Evergreen Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at Oakey's North Chapel, 362-1237.
