His daughter Anna's death certificate, with Anna's husband as informant, said that Gerald was born in County Cork.
His 1880 Census said he was born in 1847
His 1900 Census said he was born in March 1851
His 1910 census said he was born in 1854.
His death record in 1927, with his son in law Maurice Toohig as informant, said he was born in 1856 in Cork.
Of the five birth records of his children that I found said that Garrett was born, four of them said he was born in either 1847 or 1848. The youngest child's record said 1846.

Their daughter Agnes' birth records said she was born at 2032 Nelson Street, and Garrett and Bridget were living on Reno
