Narrative
In June 2013, I corresponded with Ron Berry (berryrg@northnet.org). He found no mention of this Jehiel Berry in ‘North Country Settlers, Malone in the 19th Century’ by Ted Mills, former executive director of the House of History in Malone.
Mr Berry also sent me the pages dealing with the Berry family in the book A Register of Some of the Families that have lived in Kent, CT, 1739--1999 by Francelia Johnson. The only mention of Jehiel in the book is his birth in Kent, CT.

Jehiel and Ebenezer Berry, whose descendants are numerous in Malone, were men of high character. The former, who located on the North Bangor road on what became the Bicknell place, kept a tavern for a year or two. He was a soldier in the war of 1812. Ebenezer was on the farm next east. Both served the town as commissioner of highways.
