Wonsick, Robert Lewis, 78, of St. Petersburg, died Thursday, March 25, 2004 at his residence.

Born in Massilon, OH, he came here in 1952 from Cleveland. He graduated from Ohio State University with advanced studies at John Carroll University. He taught Industrial Arts at Tomlinson Vocational and at Madeira Beach Middle School. After retiring he worked in the Media Center at St. Petersburg College.

He was a Charter Member of the Cathedral of St. Jude, Past President of the Hoy Name Society, Co-founder of the St. Jude Youth Club and a member of Cursillo. He was a volunteer with the Boy Scouts, Little League, Meals on Wheels, Crime Watch and his neighborhood association. He enjoyed playing his harmonica, listening to music, and riding his bike. He collected rocks on his travels through 48 states and 5 continents.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Marilyn Murphy Wonsick, four daughters, Peg Rennie, Winslow, AR, Ann J. Conard, Redington Beach, Rita M. E. Hagberg, St. Petersburg, and Mary Ellen Brannick, Boca Raton, six sons, Robert T., Hickory, NC, William J., Great Falls, MT, Thomas P., St. Petersburg, Raymond J., Seminole, FL, James J., Niceville, FL, and David J., Naples, FL, 25 grandchildren and 5 Greatgrandchildren.
