SUDDEN DEATH NEAR KILKEEL
Yesteday Dr. Alex. Heron, J.P., coroner for the Southern Division of County Down, held an inquest in the townland of Ballyneddin, near Killowen, Rostrevor, on the body of an old and respectable farmer, named Thomas Rourke, who died suddenly the previous evening while superintending harvesting operations in one of his fields. Evidence was given that the deceased was working in his potato field the previous day,and that he suddenly fell down and expired in a few minutes. After hearing medical testimony a verdict was returned to the effect that the deceased died from fatty degeneration of the heart.
