Narrative

email received June 2019. notes on the map.

This little map shows where the two O‘Rourke farms were and still are side by side, in B’neddan. Rose O'Rourke’s to the left and her sister Ann’s to the left, two houses side by side.

The little farm must have been divided in two, total area about 6 acres, Rose’s farm around 3 acres. The area of each field marked out -1.698 of an acre-.893 of an acre.etc, Both of those little cottages now demolished - would have had a small garden attached.

Wm O'Rourke's house was and still is known as Bayview cottage. Wm’s family rented out Bayview and they converted Wm’s forge into a dwelling house. His son James lived with his family in the forge, his brother Frank lived in the little cottage behind Bayview. This cottage may have been the one the McAteers lived in.

Narrative

email received June 2019. note on the newspaper clipping.

A little ad on the sale of Rose’s farm, which was purchased by Peter Farrell, brother of Luke who died along with Richard O'Rourke.
