Narrative

Stephen is the youngest son of Joseph Page, the first Page in the
Orono area. Stephen was born in Bangor in 1775 and was brought to
Orono as a small boy. He married(1) Annie Eayres, daughter of Joshua
Eayres and settled on the farm previously occupied by his father.

Stephen and his first wife Annie Eayres were married in 1796 by Col.
Jonathan Eddy, for whom Eddington was named. I don't know if that
means they were married in Eddington. The editor of Col. Eddy's
memoirs mentioned the "clerk's records" and I haven't seen their
record in Orono. They were both of Colburnton Plantation (later called
Orono) when they were married.

Annie/Anna died in Orono, Maine, 8 Jan 1817, and Stephen filed an
intention to marry(2) in Orono, Maine on 15 Mar 1817 to June Read.
She is called Jane Orcutt in the Orono Centennial. Jane was born in
Eddington, Maine, in 1780, and died 1 Dec 1871. Stephen died 4 Jan
1857.

The Centennial Celebration information says that six of Stephen's
eleven children were living in 1874, namely: Stephen, Samuel, Elijah,
Martha, Catherine, and Jackson.

Stephen is likely the male under 16 in his father's household in
1790. In 1800, 1820 and 1830 he has his own household. In 1850 he,
Jane, and their son Stephen make up family 399 on the census of Orono.
