General
Elizabeth's birth month and year are based on her age at death, according to her death record.
In the index to the Irish Catholic baptism registers at findmypast.ie, I looked for the only thing close was this, but Elizabeth's records usually said she was born about 1840. But her mother's name was said to be Mary. On the other hand, her first daughter was named Catherine. Eliza Bracken 1837 Monaghan Parish County Monaghan parents: Joannis Catherina |

from: "My understanding of the rateable poll was a predetermined tax levied on a property owner and an occupier of a dwelling who was over a certain age. Once they paid this tax, then they were allowed to vote, but not until then. I think it was based on British Law. The rateable poll was repealed in the 20th Century because it was disproportionate between rich and poor." |
