The obituary of Daniel C. Morris' aunt, Keziah (Irwin) Carpenter says that she raised "Daniel C. Morris, father of D.C. Morris of this place, member of Greensburg bar & d in 1834." (Mary Jane Mains, compiler, Newspaper accounts of births, marriages & deaths, 1808-1929, not all inclusive, Greensburg: Westmoreland County Historical Society, 1994.)

In G. D. Albert, editor, History of the County of Westmoreland, Pa., with Biographical Sketches, etc., (Philadelphia: Everts & Co., 1882), there is a list of attorneys for Westmoreland County. Daniel C. Morris appears in that list:

He is also said to be mentioned as a school teacher in Volume I, Chapter 36 of The History of Westmoreland County. (Boucher's history?)

The 1830 Census of Greensburg records the household of Daniel C. Morris containing a male age 30 to 40, a female age 5 to 10, a female age 15 to 20, and a female 20 to 30. The age of the oldest female agrees with Sibilla's birth year of 1808, but none of the other ages are accurate. (1830 Census, Westmoreland Co., Series M19, Roll 164, Page 70.)

On June 18, 1834, Daniel C. Morris, his wife's brother-in-law George W. Kern, and John Taylor, bought nineteen acres of land in Johnstown from Shepley Priestly for $800. On July 7, 1840, Joseph Kern, Daniel's father-in-law, purchased the interest held by [the estate of] Daniel Morris.(Source: Storey, Henry W., History of Cambria County, Chapter 13, "Land Titles", pages 290-310, as found at http://www.accessible.com/ amcnty/PA/Cambria/Cambria13.htm.)

Daniel died in December 1834 and Sibilla married Alexander Craig in 1838.
