Leonard Kohn, 1922

This website includes a picture of the 1922 second grade class at Holy Name Parish on Broadway on the southeast side of Cleveland. My mother was in that class and identified most of the children in the picture. She identified the first young man from our left in the front row as Leonard Kohn. I would imagine he is this person:

Leonard P Kohn was born September 2, 1913.1 In 1920 he was living with his parents John and Delia (Coleman) Kohn at 4909 East 84th Street, Garfield Heights. Also in the household were Leonard's brothers and sisters Joseph, Bernice, Bernard, Francis, Eugene, Edward, Raymond, and Beatrice. His father worked as a plumber. They were still living there in 1922.2, 3

Leonard served in World War II, then married Jeannette L Eslinger about 1946 or 1947 in Cuyahoga County. 4, 5 They lived in Westlake and Leonard worked as a custodian for the Cleveland Public Schools. Leonard died April 22, 1988, at Fairview General Hospital in Cleveland and his wife died in 2003.6, 7, 8
