Note: Kate Ellis (ebisha1@yahoo.com)advised that research provided by Sister Annette Reap indicated the FINNERTY family supposedley came from Co Roscomman originally and then moved to Co Sligo in th 1830 or 40s. They had a farm that bordered the Atlantic Ocean. Two brothers, presumably Sister Annette's great grandfather and his brother lived on the farm side by side. Sister Annettee grandparents lived in Culleens Co Sligo when they married. Bridget Finnerty's father John Finnerty married Ceceilia Sabina Gallagher. John had a brother Master George Finnerty a school master and another brother who was a priest. At some point probably in the 1880 or 1890 Celia G. Finnerty and all her children came to the US. John Finnerty died in Ireland. Griffith Valuation (1848-1864) shows a John Finnerty living in Easky parish in Co Sligo in a place called Cooga townland. Bridget Finnerty and her 8 siblings came to the US.
