Events

Event Date Place Description Sources
Birth May 4, 1858 Northern Ireland "village of Moren" 1a 2a 3a
Event Note

His petition for naturalization says he was born in the village of "Moren". Could this be Mourne, and was he from Kilkeel? His daughters' information in 1930 says he was born in Northern Ireland.

I didn't find Richard's baptism record in Kilkeel. The closest I found was a Richard Cunningham, baptized October 19, 1857, son of Patrick Cunningham and Rosy McKay of Ballygowen. sponsors: Arthur Cunningham and Ellen Cull.

There is no reason yet to think that this is him. There was probably more than one Richard Cunningham in the area.

Person Note

Richard Cunningham is in a few Cleveland City Directories. I included a few other Cunninghams with him. Cornelius and Patrick's father, also named Patrick, were from County Waterford. I think Cornelius and Niel are the same person. In 1886 there are 2 Cunninghams, John and Mark, living one house number from Richard. Are they relatives? I couldn't find any more about them in a quick search.
