See notes at Michael's baptism record. It definitely says he was born September 6, 1877 and was baptized September 11. His SSDI says October 12, his naturalization says October 20. And there is the following index to the civil registration below at familysearch. October 12 might be when the civil registration took place. Also, I have heard that there was a fine for late registration of a child's birth. To avoid the fine, parents would report their child's birth as later than it actually was.
