Brought Home for Burial

The remaind of Mrs. Sylvesta Scales, who died at her home in Evansville
yesterday morning of tuberculosis, was brought here this afternoon on a
special funeral car funerished by the E., S. & N. Traction company and
was taken from the station to Maple Grove cemetery for burial.

Mrs. Scales was the daughter of Fred Billups of this city, and made this
her home until recently. She has been a suffered of asthma for several
years past, which finally developed into tuberculosis. For the past few
years Mr. and Mrs. Scales have been spending the winter months in
Florida in hopes of recuperating Mrs. Scales' health.

Mrs. Scales was 49 years of age and is survived by her husband, Sylvesta
Scales, and a brother, John A. Billups of Tennyson. She was a member of
the Main Street M. E. church of this city and P. C. Lisman pastor
of this church, was called to Evansville to officiate the services held
at the residence, also officiating at the services at Maple Grove
cemetery--Saturday's Courier.
