They were living in Altoona in 1870 and 1880. (Censuses.)
In the 1890 City Directory for Pittsburgh, transcribed at Ancestry.com, there are listed the following:

This could be their son William and a wife, but this Emma is not their daughter. Emma married about 1886 and had a son about 1887 according to her 1910 census information. Or perhaps the City Directory information lagged a few years behind.
