Her 1900, 1905, 1910, and 1925 censuses said Mary was born in March 1861 in Ireland.
Her daughter Margaret's death record said Mary was born in Ireland.
Her 1915 and 1920 censuses said she was born in England.
Her 1930 census said she was born in Northern Ireland.
Her death record and death notice said she was born in Ireland.

I didn't find an index listing for the civil birth record for Mary Ann at the GRO or freebmd.

Is this them, with Mary Ann being recorded as Margaret? I didn't find a better match, but this address is 4 miles from where their children were baptized.

There were young women on the 1871 Census of Liverpool named Mary A Higgins, 15, Toxteth Park, Bridget McHale, 16, Toxteth Park, Ann Pheelen, 14, Dale Street. But I haven't found Mary Sloan herself there in 1871. And they are all common Irish names anyway.

Mary A Sloan died Tuesday at her home, 306 East Third Street. She was born in Ireland sixty-eight years ago and lived in Brooklyn for fifty years. She is survived by two daughters, Ellen Peterson and Alicia Sloan, and one son, John. Funeral Friday at 9:30 A.M., thence to Church of Immaculate Heart of Mary, Fort Hamilton parkway. Interment at Calvary Cemetery under direction of Jere J Cronin, Inc., 115 Atlantic Avenue.
