Herbert F. Perdew, 71, of 150 South Eighth Street, died in Connellsville State Hospital at 12:15 p.m. Sunday. He had been sick for two years. A native of Connellsville, he was born August 11, 1885, a son of the late Habanas and Elizabeth Keefer Perdew.

Before his retirement in 1952, he was General Foreman of The West Penn Car Shops on the west side, a position he held for 40 years.

Surviving are his widow Amy Ann Boor Perdew, a sister, Mrs. Ella Hill of Clarksburg, W.V., and a half brother and a half sister, Mrs. Susuan Showman and John Channing both of Popular Grove. The funeral sevice will be held at the Brooks Funeral Home, 203 West Green Street with R.A. Nelson, pastor of the Albright EUB Church of South Connellsville, officiating.

Interment will take place in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
