Narrative
Franz/Frank Schleimer made at least three trips to the US and back. The manifest from his first arrival has not yet been found online, but in 1908 he returned through Ellis Island on Feb 24 aboard the President Lincoln, which had left from Cuxhaven, Germany. He was 28, single, and working as a sculptor. He was accompanied by his sister Paulina, age 15, who had not been in the US before, and he paid for her trip. Franz seems to say that he had been in the US before, in Cleveland, from 1901 to 1908, (the manifest is written over in this column.) Their nearest relative in Austria was their father Jacob Schleimer, living in Kerndorf Gottsche. Their destination was their brother-in-law Anton Fink's home at 7202 ????, in Cleveland. Franz was 5 ft 4 in, with brown hair and blue eyes, and no distinguishing marks.

Frank returned to the US again on Dec 10, 1923, aboard the ship Cleveland, which left from Hamburg. He was age 43 and single. This time his last place of residence was given as Cleveland, Ohio. He was naturalized as a citizen of the US on Aug 2, 1909 in Court of Common Pleas, Cleveland.
His address in US was 2655 E. 128th St.
