JOSEPH COFFEY OBITUARY

Coffey, Joseph P.

Joseph P. Coffey of Pearl River, NY died Monday, April 25, 2011 at home. He was 83. Joseph was born August 24, 1927 in New York City to Joseph and Margaret Hughes Coffey. He grew up in Manhattan and lived in Orangeburg and Pearl River for the past 21 years. Mr. Coffey was a member of Good Shepherd parish in the Inwood section of Manhattan prior to moving to Rockland County. He was a World War ll veteran, a member of the John H. Secor American Legion Post 329 in Pearl River. Beloved husband of the late Mildred (Capria) whom he married on March 27, 1953. He is survived by his daughter Jo-Ann Coffey-Fasulo and husband Roy of Pearl River and his daughter Patricia Coffey of Pearl River. He is survived by his brother Edward Coffey and his wife Anne of Pearl River and his sister Mary Kelly and her husband Tom of Whiting, NJ. His brothers, James and John and his sisters, Margaret Finucane, Jane O'Halloran and Catherine McNamara predeceased him. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Patricia Morrissey of Valley Cottage, NY, Delores Capria of LaGrange, IL and Maria Capria of Saddle Brook, NJ. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM Friday at St. Aedan's R.C. Church, Pearl River. Burial will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Nanuet, NY. Visiting is Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc. The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to United Hospice of Rockland.
