Patrick McMullen

Birth Name Patrick McMullen
Gender male
Age at Death unknown

Narrative

According to the marriage records of their sons Dennis and John, Patrick and Catherine were from County Monaghan in Ireland. The county is in the northern part of the current Republic of Ireland, on the border with Northern Ireland. It is one of the three counties of the Province of Ulster which are part of the Republic.

There were many McMullen families in Co. Monaghan on Griffith's Valuation (1848-1864), but only a few Singletons. One of the large landowners in the county was a Thomas Singleton.

At the time of his daughter Bridget's first marriage, in 1847, Patrick was a day laborer, possibly agricultural, living in the parish of the Notre Dame Basilica in Montreal. Patrick was deceased when his daughter Essy was married on May 10, 1858.

He may be the Patrick Mullins who was buried in 1852. This man was old enough to have an occupation. His age was not clear, it looked like "deuxante dix ans" which does not make sense. The date of his burial is unreadable. (He is not any of the other Patrick McMullens in the burial records in Montreal for that time period.)

There may be more children in this family.
