Narrative

Elizabeth F. Jenkins remained single. She was living as a lodger with her aunt Mary Carrigan at 64 Chelsea St., East Boston, in 1910. In 1920 she is on the census twice, once with her family at 120 Everett Street, and once boarding with the family of John H. and Jennie (Carrigan) Smith, at 78 Horace Street, East Boston.

In 1930 she is not with her brothers and sister at 442 Sumner Street. She worked for a laundry or towel supply company, as a laundress, stitcher, and bookkeeper. (Her sister Margaret's son, Jerome Paige, worked for a laundry company from at least 1936 to 1943. Was it the same company?) By 1965 she had moved back in with her family at 442 Sumner St. and was there in 1968 when her
sister Mary J. died. She died at Winthrop Hospital at the age of 102. Her residence at her time of death was 2 Father Jaccobe Road, East Boston.
