Narrative

Daniel G. Dudley and Mrs. Priscilla Page were married in Orono on 3
Dec 1832. Daniel apparently died by 1840, since, in that year, there
is a household in Orono with eight children headed by a Priscilla
Dudley, age 40 - 50.

Their children Daniel and Priscilla first appear by name on the 1850
census of the household of Newman (and Priscilla) Dudley, but are too
old to be Newman's children. The death records of both children say
their parents were Daniel and Priscilla.

Pages 369 and 396 of Orono Town Records 1806-1838, showed the Intention on 8 Dec 1832 but the mariage on 3 Dec 1832, as microfilmed at New England Historic and Genealogical Society.. But Orono's vital records for the years 1826 to 1836 are a copy made from those in Old Town, which was set off from Orono and incorporated in 1840. Orono thought the records were lost in a fire, but later found that Old Town had the information.
