Mary's age at death was 48 years, 7 months. She died March 15, 1853, in Bangor. So her birth date would be about August 1804. Mary P Lansil was most likely born in Truro or Chatham, Mass. Her parents were married in Truro in 1800. Her younger sister Betsy's birth is recorded in the Chatham Town records as occurring in Chatham on October 10, 1806 and recorded on Feb 12, 1808. But why aren't her and her older brother Thomas' births recorded? I'm pretty sure that either I or Linda Hall-Little wrote to the Truro Town Clerk looking for Mary's birth in the original book. The clerk did not find the record. It is not in the book Vital Records of the town of Truro to the end of the year 1849, George E Bowman, 1933, Boston. For her sister Betsey's birth see FamilySearch.org > Massachusetts, Town Clerk, Vital and Town Records > Barnstable County > Chatham > Births, marriages, deaths, town records 1728-1856 vol 3, original book page 261, familysearch.org image 134, at https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1961-31533-2177-15?cc=2061550&wc=M9HZ-BV2:514765333 |
