Leckey Murray Service

Birth Name Leckey Murray Service
Gender male
Age at Death about 68 years, 1 month, 26 days

Narrative

I haven't found a record that names Leckey Murray Service's parents, but I think there is enough circumstantial evidence to include him as a son of John Service and Catherine McClintock:
1) he conducted the inventory of a Ralph McClintock in 1847 and apparently has Ralph's widow Eliza (Craige) McClintock in his household in 1850 and 1860.
2) his 1850 household also included Charles M Service who, on his marriage record in to Sarah Laughhead in Brooke County [West] Virginia in 1855, said his parents were John Service and Catherine.
3) his 1880 household apparently includes his niece, Ada Price, daughter of Catherine (Service) Price whose death record says her parents were John Service and Catherine McClintock.
4) L M Service is listed as a druggist at Ridge Ave and Queen in the 1858 Philadelphia City Directory. In 1857 A M Service was listed as a druggist at the same address.

says that Leckey Service and Nancy Haymaker were married August 11, 1847 by Rev Francis Laird. Her source is Westmoreland County Marriages and Deaths, 1818 - 1865, by Della Regan Fisher. Francis Laird was minister of the Murrysville Presbyterian Church for 19 years between 1831 and his death in 1854. Nancy was born in Murrysville, according to her death record, and I am assuming they were married in her home church.
