Why John is included as a child of Hugh and Susan Donahue:
He is in Alleghany Co, Md, from at least 1860 onward, the same county as Roseanna (Donahue) Gunning.
A Donahue correspondent says that a John Donahue was a sponsor at one of Roseanna's children.
His wife's maiden name was McColgan and there were McColgans in Indiana County.
He named a son Hugh and a daughter Susan.

His son Martin's 1880 census said John was born in Ireland, as did John's information at findgrave (their source unknown.)
