On 9 Jun 1900, James O'Rourke arrived in the United States aboard the HMS Campania, which had left from Liverpool. His age is given as 25, his last residence was Newry, he could read and write, and he had not been in the United States before. His destination was the home of his brother, William O'Rourke, on Harvard St., in Cleveland. Listed immediately after him was Matthew Sloan, age 21, who later married Lucy Rodgers (a sister- in-law to James brother, William.)

The three others in this group all had the same previous residence and same destination. They are: James Mur[ne]y, age 21, and a married couple, Richard Farrell, age 24, and Rose Farrell, age 28. James O'Rourke and James Murney both returned through Ellis Island on 1 Sep 1905, having sailed on the Lucania, which left Liverpool on 26 Aug. James O'Rourke was headed "home" to 2484 Elmo, the residence of his brother William's father in law, Edward "Ned" Rodgers. James had been in the United States before, from 1900 to 1905. His last previous residence was Rostrevor. Travelling with him, all from Rostrevor were James Murney, age 27, his brother William Murney, and the Murney's cousin John Hughes, age 24. All three of these men were headed to the home of the Murney's cousin, Peter Murney on Superior Ave.
