Mary Ann Kiel's name was recorded in her parents' family Bible as Mari Een Kiel.

According to page 11 of Jacob S. Royer's Reminiscences of My Grandmother [Mary Ann Kiel,]'s Life, she and Jacob were married by a minister named Rugan, pastor of the second Lutheran church of Greensburg, and the reception was held in the one of the court rooms in the courthouse.

She was living in Dayton by 1907 when Jacob Royer wrote down Mary Ann's account of her early life.

Mrs Mary Snider, widow of the Rev Jacob Snider, late of Waynesboro, died yesterday morning at 1:00 at the home of her daughter, Mrs John R Easton, Waynesboro, from heart trouble, aged 87 years and 6 months. She had been ill but three days.

The deceased was born in Greensburg, removing to Waynesboro from McConnellsburg over thirty years ago. Mrs Snider was a member of the Church of the Brethren.
